Mechanic’s Liens

General contractors, subcontractors, and material suppliers have a right to assert a lien upon real property for the value of work performed to improve such property, or supplies delivered to the project site, if they are not paid. Kansas and Missouri have very specific notice and service requirements, deadlines, and language which must be followed for a mechanic’s or subcontractor’s lien to be enforceable.
