This is your case. You and your case matter to us. It is important that you make the best possible decision when you are hiring an attorney. We encourage you to meet with us face to face so you can ask the hard questions that a website or an advertisement simply can’t answer. In fact, we don’t think you should hire a lawyer until you have had a chance to get answers to the questions that are important to you.
The goal of this website is to let you know 1) we are here to help if you have a legal matter, 2) the depth of our experience and how we represent our clients, and 3) the types of cases we handle. If we can help, we want the opportunity to work with you.
There is a lot of information available on this site, all of which was written by the lawyers and staff of MSB (and not by others we paid to write it for us). We have tried to provide information you will find helpful, but this is an advertisement for our law firm, too.
The following is wordy (we are lawyers) but worth the read.
Using this website or contacting us through this website does not create an attorney-client relationship between you and MSB. You don’t want to accidentally hire an attorney and we don’t want to accidentally take on a client.
If you would like to hire us as your attorneys, there are certain things each of us must do. First, our firm must verify that there is no conflict of interest between you and our other clients. Second, we must meet with you in person or by phone to discuss your case and legal needs. And, third, you will need to review and sign an engagement agreement or contingency fee contract with our firm.
When you contact us through this website, it is important that you do not provide confidential information about your legal matter. After we have determined that there are no conflicts of interest, we can set up an initial consultation with you where you can provide us with the details. We can talk about the confidential details of your legal matter at that time. We follow this procedure to protect you and to protect the individuals and companies we already represent.
We may toot our own horn a few times throughout this website, but it’s because we love what we do and are proud of the things we have accomplished during our years of legal practice. Summaries or descriptions of past results are meant only to provide information about the activities and experience of Rick, Stan or Andrew. They are not intended as a guarantee that the same or similar results can be obtained in every case. You should not assume that a similar result will be obtained in your case. Every case is different. The outcome of your case depends on the specific factual and legal circumstances of your case, the testimony of witnesses, unexpected developments beyond the control of any client or attorney, the state and county in which your case is filed and even the skill of opposing counsel.
The choice of an attorney is an important decision that should not be based on advertisements alone. (Even one as cool as this website). Morefield Speicher Bachman, LC invites you to look around our website, and then contact us for a consultation to discuss whether we are the right firm to represent you. If you have a personal injury or wrongful death matter you would like to discuss, there will be no charge for the initial consultation. If you would like to discuss a business matter with us, we charge a discounted rate for the initial consultation. Why is there a charge for business consultations? Often, we are able to help our client solve their legal issue in that initial consultation. Frequently, business clients already know what type of legal assistance they need so we are able to begin work on solutions at the first meeting. In personal injury and wrongful death matters, we typically work on a contingency fee – we don’t get paid unless we recover money for you. For contingency fee cases, it just doesn’t make sense to have a charge for the initial consultation.
This website includes information about legal issues and legal developments. These materials are for general information only and may not reflect the latest legal developments. We try hard to keep this website current, but “job number one” is taking care of our clients. These informational materials are not intended, and should not be taken, as legal advice on any particular set of facts or circumstances. You should contact MSB or another attorney for specific advice on specific legal problems.
The jurisdictions in which each of our attorneys is licensed to practice are indicated in the individual attorney biographies on this website. The ability of any attorney to engage in any activities on behalf of a client outside that attorney’s states of licensure is subject to state statutes, professional codes if responsibility and court rules. Morefield Speicher Bachman, LC does not seek, and this website is not intended to solicit, legal employment outside our attorneys’ states of licensure that would constitute the unauthorized practice of law. If you are unsure about the proper jurisdiction for your legal matter, please contact us to discuss whether we can help you.
